Twas great craic...

Is one of the many Irish expressions I learned this week meaning it was a lot of fun. They talk funny over there, like really funny. For example: Irish cannot pronounce the "th"... three becomes tree, thank you becomes tank you, thing becomes ting. All words and name get shortened to one syllable which increases their word tempo insanely. The says things like "twas great craic," "gone with the birds" (ditzy), "taking the piss out of someone" (making fun of someone).

I headed to Ireland last wednesday with four Americans and two Irish friends. We got to stay at my one friend's (Dianne) house which was incredible because she has a huge Irish family (six kids) and an open door policy, meaning there were 15 people there at any given time there. I think that was the first time I have been in a proper home since January.

Highlights of the week include celebrating Daniel's 21st birthday, Irish dancing, eating at Bunratty castle, drinking Guinness which actually isn't very good, seeing the Cliffs of Moher, going to the beach, visiting Abbey's and such, and enjoying country Irish living.
